Kick off the morning right with something light on your digestion, that will keep you full and give you that energy boost you need. The harder I work to build my empire, the truer it becomes that I owe it to myself to give my body the best of the best. #shebetterwork ;)
My Morning Routine
I have fallen in love with my morning routine. Once I'm up and moving the first thing I do is:
STEP 1: Pour myself 16oz of water, and sip and my leisure until I have finished it.
STEP 2: Make myself a cup of tea, sip and enjoy.
STEP 3: Make myself a well balanced smoothie, with fats, proteins, veggies, and fruit. This gets my body fueled with diverse nutrients to give me a boost of energy and a strong start for my day.
For years and years my old routine was to wake up and eat a hardy breakfast of eggs, and an English muffin, maybe add in some bacon or hash browns. Sometimes on the weekends I would make french toast, or go to brunch, often before having even a sip of water. Then I would be tired and often grumpy, as a result of the uncomfortable bloating. I was overloading my digestion before I even started my day.
My new routine keeps me feeling so light and chipper throughout the day, and I feel like I am able to perform my best, and show up for myself and the people I love with a much brighter energy. Not to mention, it tastes like the holidays, and gives me the warm fuzzies.
The Recipe: Cinnamon Sweet Potato Smoothie
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of sliced frozen banana
1/3 cup of shredded carrot
1/3 cup of 100% apple juice (not from concentrate)
2 dates
2/3 cup of mashed sweet potato (cooled)
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup canned coconut milk
Add water as necessary for desired consistency
Instructions:
Add ingredients into a blender, blend until smooth, ENJOY!
